Pet Insurance

The joy of owning a pet carries with it a lifetime responsibility of being prepared to meet the financial costs of your pet's healthcare.  Sometimes an unexpected illness or accident can leave you faced with difficult decisions around the health of your pet and your financial capacity.  This can be very distressing.

For this very reason we recommend that all pet owners consider pet insurance.  Pet insurance means you are not left with unplanned veterinary bills.

We do not recommend any particular vet insurance.  If you are considering pet insurance, it is important to investigate and apply as early as possible before any issues arise.

What does pet insurance cover?

Individual packages vary in the type of treatment covered.  However, they usually include most accidents and unexpected illnesses.

Just like health insurance you need to determine which cover best suits your circumstance.  When researching insurance look at the differences between policies, in particular the claim excess amount, proportion of treatment costs covered, annual claim limit, age restrictions, pre-existing illness exclusions and policy costs.
